Big 5 - lion

With the safari vehicle we could get REALLY close to this lion family, the three little ones were always playing and hearing the lion talk (roar) with his wife was amazing.

Kenton on Sea - last stop

Our last stop is in Kenton on Sea, a small coastal town on the Sunshine Coast.

Big 5 - rhino

Big 5 - buffalo

Today, we found a herd with 42 buffalos. They were quite peaceful, but they can also use their horns, as a naive rhino had to learn the hard way.

Zebras - or "cute prisoners"

Monkeys - fast and furious (airily)

You could easily watch these guys for hours, jumping around and chasing each other...

Giraffe - not big 5, but cute

Sibuya - place to be for safari

Sibuya reserve is a nice place for safari and nature experience, cut off from civilization by a river. It is a small camp with tents, but rather luxurious. No internet and mobile  is available. The staff was really experienced, knowledgeable and easy-going. The Safari experience was amazing, and the rides by boat and safari-vehicle were really adventurous and breath-taking. Canoeing down the river was fun too. Even though we had to wake up at 5.30 every day it was worth it. The food and accommodation were outstanding. Every detail of the camp and daily routine are well thought through.

Knysna

Knysna - nice little place with great views. It is a hub of craft shops and trendy cafes. Also, the Knysna 500 (a nice catamaran) is manufactured in this town.

Tanikwa sanctuary - wild cats

We got inside the cage with two cheetahs which was pretty cool, but a bit scary as they are wild cats and the fastest on earth (120km/h within 3 seconds). Though they remained very cool without even noticing our presence. The turtles and meerkats were really funny.
Tanikwa private sanctuary for wild cats is doing a great job rescuing and protecting the animals. The facility is being visited for educational purposes.

Robberg hike

The Robberg hike was a tough one not only because of the trail difficulty but rather due to rough weather conditions. It was so stormy that even whale watching boats didn't go out into the sea. We were glad we had our wind proof coats. It was not only the strong wind, but a sand storm hurting all uncovered skin, which was quite an experience.
